Charges laid against Jordan Doddridge in Saturday’s bank robberies

CROWN Counsel has approved two counts of robbery against 23-year-old Jordan Anthony Doddridge, and charges have been recommend against his female passenger, following their arrests on Saturday afternoon at Clark Drive and East 1st Avenue in Vancouver.

Police received a report of a bank robbery on Commercial Drive just after 1 p.m. on February 3. A second robbery happened 30 minutes later on East Broadway and Commercial. A description of the alleged suspect vehicle was provided to police, which was involved in a collision with four other vehicles shortly after. Vancouver Police officers were able to move in and arrest the alleged suspects.

Four occupants of one vehicle were taken to hospital with what was originally described to be minor injuries. But upon further medical assessment, one of the passengers, a woman in her 50s visiting from Brazil, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Doddridge remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court February 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Vancouver Police detectives are still piecing together exactly what happened and additional charges could be recommended upon the completion of their investigations. Anyone with information about these incidents, including dash-cam footage, is asked to contact the officers at 604-717-3012 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
