Delta’s sex offender spotted in Australia

A Delta man accused of sexual assaults against children has been spotted in Australia.

Jamieson Richard Glendinning was supposed to appear in a B.C. provincial court in June, but failed to show up and now police confirm they’ve been told he’s in Australia.

Delta Police Const. Ciaran Feenan says a Canada-wide warrant was issued for the man shortly after he failed to show up in court.

Glendinning, who’s in his 60s, faces charges of sexual assault, indecent assault and gross indecency, relating to alleged offences against males and females of both elementary and high school ages.

At the time of his arrest, Delta police said Glendinning had contact with many children through his work with the Tsawwassen Amateur Baseball Association between 1985 and 1995.
