Delta Mayor’s Housing Task Force for Scott Road

ARE you interested in helping shape the future of housing and land use along the Scott Road Corridor? Delta is looking for committed and dynamic North Delta residents to join Mayor George Harvie and three other members of Council on the Mayor’s Housing Task Force for Scott Road.

The purpose of the Task Force is to provide recommendations to Council on directions and specific initiatives to promote the development of diverse and affordable housing options on the Scott Road corridor area and add certainty regarding future land use. The Task Force will look at a broad range of housing forms, ranging from low rise to high rise buildings, and a mix of market, rental and affordable housing.

“I am looking for committed and dynamic North Delta residents to join me on this new Task Force to develop a housing plan that is supported by the community and looks after everyone, including youth, seniors and the most vulnerable,” said Harvie.

This Task Force will meet roughly every two weeks for a period of six months. To be eligible to sit on the Task Force, you must be a resident of North Delta and cannot be directly affiliated with the development or real estate community.

If you are interested in sitting on the Mayor’s Housing Task Force on Scott Road, submit a brief cover letter with your name, address, and why you would like to serve, plus any relevant knowledge and experience. Application deadline: January 31.
