Costume jewelry donation the real thing – owner sought

Delta Police spokesperson Cris Leykauf

SOMEONE recently made a donation of jewelry to the DYSL Thrift Store (Delta Youth Support Link) in Tsawassen, which was a bit more valuable than they probably realized.

“The donation came into the thrift store around March 1,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for the Delta Police Department. “Apparently there were a number of costume jewelry items donated, but one of the people working at the store thought some of the jewelry looked more valuable. They had it appraised, and it’s the real thing.”

The jewelry is valued at $23,000.

The DYSL Board of Directors turned the jewelry over to police in the hopes of finding the rightful owner.
Because of the nature of the donation police are not going to provide a description of the jewelry. But if you or someone you know donated jewelry to the DYSL Thrift store around March 1, contact the Delta Police non-emergency line at 604-946-4411 and refer to File# 18-9689.

The owner will need to provide a detailed description of the jewelry to police.
