Caribbean Medical Univ Now Accepting Applications For January Semester At Surrey & Abbotsford Campuses

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAfter successfully launching its pre-medical program in Surrey and Abbottsford last month, Caribbean Medical University School of Medicine has now opened up registration for their spring semester starting in January.

“The curriculum has been well received by the fall semester students. This kind of program was long overdue as an alternative for students wishing to pursue medicine,” said Dr. R. Jackson, Dean of Academics.

The pre-medical program allows for direct entry as no post-secondary education or MCAT are required. Both financial aid and scholarships as well as payment plans are available to cover friendly, low tuition. Students enjoy the use of state-of-the-art facilities in Canada and Curacao.

“I’m glad my dad attended the info seminar in the summer, or else we wouldn’t have known about this program. He’s always wanted me to become a doctor. CMU has shown me the light at the end of the tunnel and now my dad’s dream has become my dream as well.” according to Prabjhaut, a current student of the program.

“CMU is opening up alternative avenues for future doctors. The pre-medical program will serve students who want a high quality, direct, accessible avenue to the MD degree,” said Johnny Kang, CMU’s Academic Advisor.

CMU is providing an accessible, structured pathway to becoming a doctor in Canada or the US. The pre-med program in Canada is followed by a 16-month, 4-semesters program in Curacao with 72 weeks of Canadian and US clinical rotations.

“At CMU we are excited to begin the second phase of this program which is offering a way forward for students who are motivated and hard-working,” according to Dr. S. Handa, Dean of Clinical Medicine.
