Canadian’s family in New Delhi figures in mysterious accident

The daughter and son-in-law of Bhappa Singh of Canada used to drive his car, say neighbours

 

A man has been missing after he was hit by a car on the DND flyway in New Delhi, India, police said on Monday.

But the drivers of the Harley Davidson motorcycle and the Toyota Etios car that were found at the accident scene have mysteriously dispppeared. Police have been unsuccessful in tracking them down even after more than 24 hours.

Police said they have no clue in the case. No information about the injured has been received from any hospital. A search, with the help of local divers and a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), was carried out in the Yamuna river, but police drew a blank.

Anshuman Puri, a resident of Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, is the registered owner of the bike, but his house has been found locked. His neighbours told police that he lived alone, reports PTI news agency.

One Bhappa Singh, a resident of Delhi’s Qutub Vihar, is the registered owner of the car. His house was also found locked. Neighbours said that he is living in Canada and his daughter and son-in-law used to drive his car.

Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for those involved in the accident.
