Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure seeks leadership volunteers in Surrey

THE annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure takes place in Surrey thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers who organize the event for the community. As the planning begins again for this year’s event taking place on October 5, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is seeking two Run Directors to lead the organizing committee.

Run Directors are leadership positions who work closely together to manage and empower a team of volunteers. This team supports fundraising, promotes breast health information and encourages participation in the event and coordinates all the logistics of event day.

On top of recruiting the two Run Directors, several committee roles still need to be filled including: Individual Fundraising Coordinator, Co- Teams Fundraising Coordinator, and Registration Coordinator.
Any interested applicants can find more information here or can contact Kim Hodge, Volunteer Manager at the Foundation at khodge@cbcf.org or 1-800-561-6111 x 242.

Last year, more than 1,100 walkers and runners in Surrey participated in the five or one kilometer event, promoting the importance of breast health and raising funds to support the cause. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada’s largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, education and awareness programs. Local participants collected donations in the months leading up to the event, raising over $177,000 alone last year (as of Run day).
