16-year-old attacked with edged weapon in altercation at Surrey residence

ON Sunday (July 9), at approximately 1 a.m., Surrey RCMP received multiple 911 calls reporting an altercation occurring at a residence in the 5600-block of 148th Street. Police found a 16-year-old male who had received several wounds from an edged weapon.  The youth was transported to hospital in serious condition.

The victim had been having a verbal altercation with several other youths that had come to the residence.  These youths fled from the residence prior to police arriving on the scene.  All of the youths are known to each other.

Witnesses were identified and interviewed and the area canvassed for additional evidence and witnesses.  The incident was targeted and not random.

Police  are seeking the assistance of the public and are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this altercation or observed several youths fleeing from the area to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers.
