All-New 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe offers unmatched content for the same price as outgoing model

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp announced that the all-new 5-passenger 2013 Santa Fe will carry the same starting price as its predecessor when it arrives in dealerships next month. Priced from $26,499, the 2013 Santa Fe will initially be launched in 5-passenger format propelled by a pair of powerful but efficient Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) four-cylinder engines. All 5-passenger Santa Fe models will be designated “Sport” to differentiate them from a long-wheelbase 7-passenger model powered by a 3.3-litre GDI V6 engine which will follow in early 2013.

The 5-passenger 2013 Santa Fe Sport features three trim levels for each of the two available engines. Propelled by a 2.4-litre GDI four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, the Santa Fe Sport 2.4 comes equipped with a wide range of standard features including a six-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, air conditioning, Bluetooth®, Hyundai’s Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM) system, seven airbags, and factory-installed trailer pre-wiring, to name just a few. For $28,299, buyers can select the 2.4 Premium model to add a 12-way power driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, rear door blinds, rear park assist sensors, and more. An advanced active All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Active Cornering Control (ACC) can be selected as a $2,000 option. The $33,899 2.4 Luxury model includes standard AWD and adds features such as leather seating, power passenger seat, panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera, HID headlights, and sliding second row seats.

The 2013 Santa Fe Sport is also available with a powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged GDI engine producing 264 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Starting at $30,499, the 2.0T Premium model includes all equipment from the 2.4 Premium and adds proximity keyless entry with push-button ignition, a transmission cooler, and a supervision gauge cluster with high-resolution TFT LCD display. Advanced active AWD with ACC is available as a $2,000 option. The $35,299 2.0T SE model comes standard with AWD and adds features including 19-inch alloy wheels, leather seating, panoramic sunroof, Infinity® premium audio system, and rear-view camera, among others. For $38,499, the range-topping 2.0T Limited incorporates an 8-inch touch-screen navigation system, HID headlights, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with HomeLink®, and more.

In developing the styling of the 2013 Santa Fe, Hyundai designers sought to break away from the highly conservative design and styling typical of the CUV category. Taking inspiration from the strong, dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm, designers expanded on Hyundai’s signature “Fluidic Sculpture” design language to invoke the impression of irrepressible motion. Sophisticated lines, working in harmony with bold surfaces, give the third-generation Santa Fe a more classic and aggressive look than its predecessor.
