ON Friday (January 16) at 2:30 p.m., Abbotsford Police were called to Abbotsford Regional Hospital where a man was being treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of a shooting.  Police interviewed the 19-year-old victim from Abbotsford who reported that he was involved in a conflict in the area of McKenzie Road and Fern Street.

Abbotsford Police Patrol Division Officers, Forensic Identification Unit members and Major Crime Unit Detectives attended the area and began a search for evidence and witnesses.  The investigation into the shooting continues.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who was in the area of Fern Street and McKenzie Road between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday.  In addition, anyone with information concerning this incident should contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text APD at 222973 (abbypd) or call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The victim was discharged from hospital just after 6 p.m. Friday.
