7-Year-Old Evan Saves Grandpa’s Life

Chilliwack: It’s a great story about a 7-year-old boy Evan Raap who used a cell phone to call 9-1-1 to save his Grandpa George Epp life. This little boy is truly a hero.

On October 27, 2012, around 9:30 AM, a 9-1-1 operator received a call from a 7 year old boy stating that he was driving down the road with his Grandpa when his Grandpa suddenly pulled over, started to shake violently and sweat. He said that his Grandpa was just laying in the driver`s seat and he couldn’t wake him up. The little boy knew something wasn’t right, found his Grandpa’s cell phone and called 9-1-1. The boy was able to tell the operator what was wrong and where he was guiding emergency personnel to his location on the side of the road.
The Grandpa is still in hospital undergoing several tests and he is recovering well.

This story highlights the importance of teaching children to use cell phones and how and when to call 9-1-1. The 7 year old hero’s name is Evan and his family is very proud of him.
