59-year-old male on mobility scooter struck by vehicle in Surrey

ON Wednesday at approximately 3:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 140th Street and Green Timbers Way. A 59-year-old male on a mobility scooter was crossing 140th Street when he was struck by a vehicle.

The male pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and has been cooperating with police.

Police said alcohol, drugs and speed have been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still under investigation by the Surrey Criminal Collision Investigation Team.
