Multiculturalism & Diversity Day The Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society, Vancouver Branch will be hosting a Multiculturalism & Diversity Day for Youth aged 13-24 on-site at its Main St offices Aug 25, 2010 from 11:00am – 2:00 pm. This fun event will have community leaders and youth speaking on multiculturalism and diversity. Speakers will include Don Davies (MP Vancouver Kingsway) and Kerry Jang (Vancouver City Council); who will address ‘The Future of Multiculturalism in Canada and the Role of Youth in Sustaining it’. The World Beat Program of Vancouver Community College is to present a Drumming workshop. We are also hoping for some groups to bring along murals highlighting the theme of diversity. Recently a computer component, and modules on a comprehensive variety of Workplace Skills have been added. The workshops are held within a culturally diverse environment, led by qualified facilitators. Past and current E.I. recipients are welcome.
