Five South Asians were elected MLAs in Monday's provincial election in Alberta and, although earlier in the week it looked like all of them would be Progressive Conservatives, the Liberals' Darshan Kang finally emerged as the winner in the riding of Calgary-McCall. Kang unseated four-term PC MLA Shiraz Shariff.
