BERNIER AND OBHRAI SAY THEY WANT TO FORTIFY CANADA-INDIA RELATIONSHIP

Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier and Parliamentary Secretary Deepak Obhrai, who are in India this Friday (January 11) and Saturday (January 11) and are scheduled to meet with Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and senior Indian government officials, told The VOICE before they left Ottawa that "the trip is to enhance and strengthen relationship with India."

The Laibar Singh case is back in the news again. In a deliberate and under-handed attempt to thwart an outcry, Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) provided Mr. Singh with extremely short notice of a deportation for an absurd hour of the morning. Despite attempts to portray the resulting protest of January 9 as 'mob rule' or that 'protestors thwarted his deportation', CBSA most likely did not enforce Mr. Singh's removal simply to avoid violating gurudwara sanctuary.
