LAIBAR SINGH CASE: PEOPLE AT AIRPORT WERE ACTING OUT OF A SENSE OF JUSTICE AND COMPASSION

Last Monday some 2,000 supporters, mostly Indo-Canadian, turned up at Vancouver International Airport, to protest against the deportation of paralyzed refugee claimant Laibar Singh, 48, preventing border and immigration officials from taking custody of him. That led to a very negative backlash in the mainstream media and community.

INDIAN CONNECTION IN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME NETWORK
An investigation led by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) in British Columbia and police agencies from Australia, the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, India and China focused on the distribution of illegal narcotics and drug precursors both nationally and internationally and nailed more than 100 suspects around the world, including several in B.C.
