Education is a Godly force that builds not only individual personalities, but also nations. People who have elevated their thinking above personal gains think, plan and spend their personal wealth on educational facilities to educate the youth and beautify this world. They have purified their thinking in the nectar of altruistic deeds and their lives have merged in the pool of altruism. They deserve all the appreciation.
Guru Nanak Dev ji says on page 128 of the S.G.G.S.: "Falsehood exhausts itself; truth alone prevails ultimately." People who have not been able to elevate their thinking above selfishness and greediness can think of raising hurdles in the path of community progress, but truth always prevails and falsehood sinks in the wallow and sludge of selfishness.
The Khalsa Schools were established in order to impart religion and secular education. It is this religious education that saves the youth from drugs, smoking and other undesirable activities. What better deeds can we think of?
"Education is to be noble, kind to all and to serve selflessly," says Guru Nanak Dev ji on page 356 of the S.G.G.S. It is education that ennobles a person and exalts him to the status of an angel. Education enlightens and dignifies the personality of a person and elevates him above parochial thinking and jealousies. An educated person probes into the heights of wisdom and serves humanity selflessly. An educated person's activities are benevolent in nature. He is generous and benign in all his dealings. It is this education Khalsa Schools impart to our youth. They become the pride of their families and the community.
It is this education that makes the need of Khalsa Schools more intensive and vehement. The students of these schools behave well and learn discipline by means of religious instructions.
Students of these Khalsa Schools are capable of conducting most of the religious ceremonies such as expressing gratitude to the Lord for his bounties, health and ascendancy. They sing holy songs to express gratitude and perform other ceremonies of commiseration. They will carry forward the holy torch to the next generation. This holy torch is an embodiment of human love, sympathy, compassion, service, humility, righteousness and justice. These qualities make life beauteous and worth living. Life is enriched with humane charitable elements and benign instincts in Khalsa Schools with the help of religious instructions.
It is the farsightedness of the altruistic and philanthropic Sikhs that they saw the welfare and future of the Sikh community in these Khalsa Schools. They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money to build the future of the Sikh community. They visualized that the progress, status and stability of the Sikh community was in the classrooms of Khalsa Schools. The Sikh community appreciates the efforts of these altruistic Sikhs and generations to come will be indebted to them.
Education is a torch, a beacon, that will enlighten the dark corners of our community and elevate it to glisten and glitter in the egalitarian society of our nation. Education is a universal-succour light that illuminates the garden of life. The flowers in a garden of this humane nature send waves of fragrance and the entire humanity cherishes this sweet redolence.
The city of Surrey has a large concentrated Sikh population that another Khalsa School is the clamouring need of the community. The Sikhs want their children to acquire academic education in an environment saturated with Sikh culture which helps them to develop humane instincts that sow angelic seeds in their garden of life. Unsullied happiness transmutes life into a garden of bliss and ecstasy. This environment will help their children to develop their faculties of intelligence and to probe into the heights of wisdom and to contribute the most to the progress of our beloved nation.
The raft of hopes and expectancies of our community reflects the raft of our nation and must sail across this rough and boisterous ocean of life smoothly and sleekly.
