Contrary to what is stated in the article, academics and journalists are generally agreed on one thing. The takeover of the British Columbia Provincial Police was not simply a cost-cutting measure. A number of other factors were at play. The RCMP contract with municipalities currently provides for a 90/10 municipal/federal cost split, creating an instant 10% savings to municipalities. This is not about cost-cutting.

NEW YORK - The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights ("Division") found "probable cause" that a middle school failed to meet its obligations under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination when it did not take adequate measures to protect a Sikh student from bias-based harassment.
