WEED OUT RACIST WHITE COPS AS VANCOUVER GETS INCREASINGLY MULTICULTURAL!
On Tuesday I got a call from taxi driver Kewal Toor, a Black Top Cabs owner-operator in Vancouver, about how a white female police officer had arrested a white driver who beat him up right next to Vancouver Police headquarters at Cambie and Second Avenue and then let the attacker off after a white male police officer intervened. I sent an email to Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan and Vancouver Police Chief Jamie Graham late Tuesday night about it and also to all the mainstream media, TV, radio and newspapers, including the Vancouver Sun and the Province. I told them they could call me up for the taxi driver's phone number if they were honest enough to pursue a story in which an Indo-Canadian was the victim.
The Arar Report: Fulfilling Canada's Commitment to Justice
One of the reasons that Canada is such a great country is that it committed to the values of peace, order and good government. Under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canadians are entitled to fair and equal treatment under the law, but our commitment to justice goes further still. When a Canadian citizen is made a victim, as Maher Arar was when he was targeted as a potential terrorist and deported to face a year of unspeakable horror in a Syrian jail, we cannot abandon that commitment. Even when it is difficult to face our own faults and mistakes, we must find the truth to ensure that justice is done and the value of Canadian citizenship is protected.
The Pope should look at the violence of his own Catholic Church
Jesus Christ in the famous Sermon on the Mount said: "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."
Helen Economo Amundsen appointed Consul General at Chandigarh
As was being recommended by The VOICE in view of the fierce and vicious lobbying by a slew of Indo-Canadian individuals and groups for the Chandigarh Consul General's post, Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay made the wise decision to appoint a career public servant, Helen Economo Amundsen, to that vacant post.
First Sikhs elected in New York pledge to tackle prejudice with political clout
"Since 9/11, Sikhs have lived in constant fear of hate crimes and discrimination. Sikhs have been branded as terrorists because we wear turbans," said Amardeep Singh, Legal Director of the Sikh Coalition. "The election of Sikhs in New York signals a new era where Sikhs can proactively raise awareness and fight prejudice with our political clout."
Indo-Canadian suspect arrested in Surrey bank robbery cases
Surrey RCMP Cpl, Roger Morrow said on Friday: "Within a matter of hours of the press release (carrying a description of the suspect and his photo) being picked up by various media outlets, several calls were placed to investigators."
Needs of Surrey-Whalley Community Left Behind by Campbell Government
However, under the watch of the BC Liberals, many unpleasant features have overshadowed the traits we feel proud about. Homelessness is one such problem I am personally very concerned about. A GVRD study shows that homelessness in Surrey has doubled since 2001.

Take a deep breath: How to handle conflict in the workplace
I'm one of a number of students working at a bank for the summer. One of our co-workers criticizes us to other coworkers, saying we don't do our work. This isn't true, and even if it was, she only works two days a week, so how would she know? I can't concentrate on my work when she's there because I'm afraid I'm doing something wrong that I don't realize. What can I do?
