Reports indicate Gerard Kennedy may upstage Michael Ignatieff and Bob Rae
A story in the Toronto Star on Thursday said according to preliminary information obtained by its reporter, Kennedy appears to be the "surprising front-runner" in the signing up of new members, the cut-off date for which was July 4. These members will choose delegates to the November 29-December 3 leadership convention in Montreal. The delegates have to be selected by September 30 - so there's still lots of time for lobbying.

Muzil Abdullah gets seven years in adult prison in Jomar Lanot killing
While the Crown had asked for a three to five year sentence in an adult prison and the defence had suggested two years in a youth facility, Bernard handed down a stiff sentence of seven years in an adult prison. In fact, he said he would have sentenced him to 10 years but for his age and for having pled guilty and shown remorse.

BC government's actions deliberately neglect ordinary people's priorities
This Government has grossly neglected the citizens of Surrey. First they cancelled the Tech BC University. They did nothing to improve the level of care at Surrey Memorial Hospital until they were pressured by NDP Official Opposition raising a huge public outcry. Despite the concerns of the RCMP, the City of Surrey and the general public, they continue to refuse to put safety cameras on Pattullo Bridge to slow down traffic and save people's lives.
