No normal British Columbian could have forgotten the shameless lies that Premier Gordon Campbell resorted to in order to blow away the NDP under then premier Ujjal Dosanjh in 2001. Even many hardcore union supporters of NDP got carried away by Campbell's promises of giving unions a fair deal and ensuring we got more money in our pockets because of a lower provincial income tax. Yet, as we all know, Campbell broke all his promises and went out of his way to humiliate the unions, withdraw free services such as the vital eye examinations and impose all kinds of indirect taxes even while lowering the income tax.
