VANCOUVER Police investigators continue to gather evidence, canvass for witnesses, and probe the circumstances surrounding the murder of 15-year-old Jason Nguyen at a house on East 24^th Avenue near Rupert Street in East Vancouver on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police and paramedics were called to the home after the teenage victim was found by a family member seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital, but did not survive.

The death was considered suspicious and after a preliminary investigation, detectives with the VPD Major Crime Section have now concluded the death is a homicide.

Though it is still very early in the investigation and there are limited details to share, police do not believe the attack was random. This is Vancouver’s 9^th homicide of the year.
