Vancouver: The first Vancouver Real Estate Leasing Conference that took place November 1, 2012, at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, providing participants with an in-depth look at the issues that will determine developments on leasing markets over the next 12 months. In the tradition of the Vancouver Real Estate Forum, this conference brings together leading experts in their fields to take part in 12 informative, fast-paced sessions.

This session touched on employment, population and economic growth. It also placed B.C. within a national context to get a sense of how the province will fare over the next year.

Participants also had the opportunity to explore the impact of US retailers on the Canadian retail landscape in the panel session Challenges & Opportunities in the Retail Market. This session offered the opportunity to look at how smaller boutiques can compete, the risks of cross border shopping and balancing high rents with affordability. This panel session will be led by Stephen Knight, president of Siting’s Realty, and include owner of Plum Clothing Ed des Roches and president of Orange National Retail Group (BC) Inc. Lenora Gates.
