Two drive-by shootings in Richmond’s Steveston area on Monday night reportedly connected

RICHMOND RCMP were called on Monday (July 28) at about 10:30 p.m. to the 3600 block of Williams road after reports of shots fired at a home.  No one was injured.  Just under an hour later reports of firecracker-like sounds were heard in the area of Bamfield Drive.  Police later determined a second drive-by shooting occurred in that area and canvassed the neighbourhood for witnesses.

Richmond Serious Crimes unit was called in and police believe the two incidents are connected.  Richmond Cpl. Stephanie Ashton said on Tuesday: “It is our belief the shootings were targeted. This was not a random act.”
