Inquiries pouring in from India, Australia & England
The buzz and excitement among movie fans seems quite big when it comes to The Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) that are going to be held here in Vancouver from April 4 to 6, 2013.
Tickets for this marquee event went on sale globally on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10am (PT) and the rush to get these tickets has been huge.
“People are calling to get more information about tickets and the actual events that are taking place,” said one of the organisers of the event.
“We’ve had inquiries from Australia, England, Germany.” A lot of interest has come from the Lower Mainland and BC, Toronto, Seattle, India, Singapore and Malaysia.
The public will be able to purchase tickets for two of the premium events – a Bollywood song and dance musical extravaganza on April 4th and the Times of India Film Awards on April 6th.
TOIFA Musical Extravaganza on April 4th at Pacific Coliseum:- Featuring top Bollywood performers, this evening of pageantry and song will celebrate the best from Hindi Cinema.
Ticket prices for the April 4th event start at $65.00 plus service charges for lower bowl and $250.00 – $500.00 plus service charges for floor seats.

The Times of India Film Awards on April 6th at BC Place Stadium:- Hindi cinema fans from across the globe have been pouring in votes for their favourite stars in 14 categories from the field of acting, directing, music, choreography and scripting. Among Bollywood A-listers scheduled for live acts in Vancouver are Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Abhishek Bachchan.
Ticket prices for the April 6th grand celebration start at $100.00 plus service charges for lower bowl and $150.00 – $3250.00 for floor seating.

Local restaurant owners are also trying their best to get more chefs and cooks for the hotels to cater to the rush that they are expecting during this event.
These restaurant owners are finding it tough to get more staff for their hotels.
Then there is the Laura Ballance Media Group, who have been hired by the Times of India to do all of the North American media relations.
This will be another career highlight for them, as they had also hosted the media centre for the 2010 Olympics.
