Suspicious death of Salamawit Girma in Surrey

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced Sunday that the Surrey woman who died on Friday (March 27) near 127th Street and 103rd  Avenue is 25-year-old Salamawit Girma of Surrey.

Surrey RCMP were called to a residence in that area at 11 p.m. on Friday to investigate the death of a woman in the home.

IHIT was called in just after 1:30 a.m. when it was determined the death of the female was suspicious.

The victim’s spouse has been in contact with police and has cooperated with the investigation.

IHIT investigators will be conducting interviews throughout the day to determine if foul play was a factor in Girma’s death.
