Delta Police spokesperson Cris Leykauf

DELTA Police were called to the 1500-block of 56th Street in Tsawwassen around 8 p.m. on Monday, May 14 in regard to a potential robbery in progress.

Police attended minutes later and located a victim on the sidewalk who had sustained non-life threatening injuries. Investigation revealed the victim knew the identity of the suspect, who allegedly attacked him with a metal pipe and bear spray, and robbed him of his phone, wallet and other personal items.

Police quickly determined a likely location of the suspect nearby, and were able to contain the area, while waiting for appropriate authority to search the dwelling. The suspect was located inside the dwelling, and was arrested.

Lucas William Logan, 31, of Abbotsford appeared in court today and is facing three charges in relation to this incident. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.

A woman was also arrested at the scene May 14, but has not been charged in relation to the incident.

“The victim and suspect were known to each other,” said Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “Our officers want to thank the members of the public who called police to alert them to this incident, and for the public’s cooperation in staying back, and allowing officers to safely do their jobs.”
