Surrey RCMP call in IHIT after suspicious deaths

ON Thursday (January 25), just before 2:45 p.m., the Surrey RCMP were called to the 17400-block of 28B Avenue for a report of a house fire. Police found two dead victims and the deaths are now believed to be suspicious.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.

IHIT tweeted on Friday: “Work continues for investigators today in south Surrey. No positive ID of victims yet. Believed not random & public safety not a concern.”
