Surrey man Satwant Singh Bains was shot dead in targeted shooting in his driveway in Fleetwood on Friday morning.
Bains said goodbye to his wife and kids Friday before getting into his car and being fatally shot in his driveway.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team on Monday released the name of the region’s latest murder victim.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound said Bains was not known to police and had no criminal record.
“Evidence to date suggests that this killing was not random and Mr. Bains, described as a family man, was a victim of a targeted shooting,” she said.
IHIT investigators are still working on a motive for the shooting, Pound said.
“Extensive neighbourhood canvassing was completed throughout the weekend,” she said. “Witnesses described a white four-door sedan vehicle speed off westbound on 86 Avenue towards 152 Street.”
