Stabbing victim known to police dropped off at Surrey hospital

SURREY RCMP are investigating a Monday night stabbing in which the victim was dropped off at a local area hospital.

At about 11:20 p.m. on Monday, police were informed that a stabbing victim had been dropped off at a local area hospital. The victim, a 29-year-old male, who is known to police, was in critical condition with a wound to his abdomen.  The victim would not cooperate with police.

Surrey RCMP obtained surveillance video from the hospital showing that the victim was dropped off by a grey or green Ford F150 pickup truck.  The licence plate was not visible and the driver did not remain to assist police.

“The unwillingness of this victim to cooperate with police certainly impacts our investigation,” said Cpl. Scotty Schumann. “Nevertheless, we will continue to investigate this matter thoroughly in an effort to find the suspect and hold them to account.”

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
