Police officer injured in Richmond traffic collision

AT approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday (September 14), there was a collision between a semi-tractor trailer and a marked police car. The semi struck the passenger side of a marked police car in the intersection of Jacombs Road and Westminster Highway, according to the RCMP.

The police officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. At this time, it appears that there weren’t any other individuals injured in this incident.

The collision is currently under investigation by the RCMP’s Lower Mainland District Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement agency.

Westbound Westminster Highway between Jacombs and Knight is currently closed to all traffic, and is estimated to reopen early Thursday evening.
