BATHINDA– Punjab Government has sanctioned five crore rupees to host the third Kabaddi World Cup scheduled from December 1st at Bathinda.
The matchs will start at 5.30 pm. Closing ceremony and final match will be held on December 15th in Ludhiana at 1.00 pm. According to official sources the Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will be present on this occasion. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is trying to rope in some Bollywood stars to make it more eye-catching and glamorous. The official sources revealed that the decision to host the third Kabaddi World Cup was taken to promote the sport and enhance its chances of making it an Olympic sport. He stated that a total of 14 teams for men will participate in the sporting event this year. The 14 teams will be further divided into two pools with seven teams in each pool. The prize money for the winners of the third edition has been doubled to Rs 2 crore, while the runners-up will fetch a sum of Rs 1 crore. Third team will get 51 lac rupees.
