Police arrest two South Asians for possession of stolen property, flight from police in Brampton

PEEL Regional Police’s officers from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested and charged two South Asian males for possession of stolen property and flight from police in Brampton.

On July 9, police located a stolen vehicle in the area of Glidden Road and West Drive in Brampton. A check of the vehicle revealed that it was involved in a pursuit and ramming of a police vehicle with Halton Police the same day.

With the assistance of the tactical unit, the vehicle was stopped at 153 Van Kirk Drive in Brampton where the two men were arrested. During the vehicle stop the involved driver rammed the tactical trucks, causing extensive damage to several vehicles.  No injuries were sustained during the arrest.

Mandeep Pannu, 33, of no fixed address was arrested on July 10 and charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of opioid. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Harpreet Singh, 38, of Brampton was arrested on July 10 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, flight from police officer, two counts of operation while disqualified and breach of probation order. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
