Peel Regional Police make arrests in Mississauga assault investigation

INVESTIGATORS from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau of Peel Regional Police have arrested three people in relation to an assault that occurred in Mississauga.

On Tuesday, March 3, at approximately 10 a.m., police responded to a report of an altercation between several parties in the Malton area of Mississauga.  Upon arrival, police located the 18 year-old victim, who had sustained facial injuries as a result of being assaulted by several other males. A video was made during the assault and posted on several social media sites.

An investigation was initiated and, as a result, three male young people have been arrested in relation to the incident.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a young person and, therefore, the identity of the young person charged in this investigation is protected.

Further arrests are pending.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
