Motorcyclist receives serious injuries in collision with City of Surrey SUV

ON Saturday (May 5) at approximately 11:55 a.m., Surrey RCMP were advised by the B.C. Provincial Ambulance Service that they were attending to a motor vehicle collision in the 19500-block of 88th Avenue where a white Suzuki motorcycle travelling westbound on 88th Avenue rear-ended a stationary City of Surrey S.U.V. which was also westbound and turning left.

Police attended to the scene and are investigating the collision. The motorcycle driver, a 36-year-old resident of Surrey who was alone, was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the City of Surrey vehicle was uninjured.

Police said 88th Avenue between 192nd and 196th streets will be closed for some time while the investigation is continuing.

Surrey R.C.M.P. are seeking the public`s assistance and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles being driven prior to the collision are asked to call them at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers in reference to Surrey File # 2018-062881.
