Liberals 39, Conservatives 34, NDP 17, Greens 6 in latest Nanos federal tracking

THE latest Nanos federal ballot tracking (August 24) has the Liberals at 38.8 per cent support, followed by the Conservatives at 34.4 per cent, the NDP at 16.5 percent, the Bloc Quebecois at 2.9 per cent and the Greens at 6.3 per cent.

Justin Trudeau remains the preferred choice as Prime Minister at 40.1 per cent of Canadians followed by Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer (25.4%), NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh (7.7%) and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May (5.2%). Twenty per cent of Canadians were unsure whom they preferred.

More than half of Canadians (55.9%) believe Trudeau has the qualities of a good political leader while 39.9 per cent believe Scheer has the qualities of a good political leader. Three in 10 (29.4%) say Jagmeet Singh has the qualities of a good political leader, while 34 per cent believe the same about May. One in six (18.5%) said interim Bloc Quebecois leader Mario Beaulieu has the qualities of a good political leader (Quebec only).

Asked whether they would consider voting for each of the federal parties, 49.9 per cent of Canadians say they would consider voting Liberal while 49 per cent would consider voting Conservative. Nearly four in ten (37%) would consider voting NDP while 23.7 per cent and 28.6 per cent of Canadians would consider voting for the BQ and Green parties, respectively.
