Join Mississauga Arts Council for the Limelight NYE Block Party

Mississauga ON –The Mississauga Arts Council is proud to celebrate New Year’s Eve with the fourth annual Limelight New Year’s Eve Block Party. This year’s Block Party takes place in the Great Hall and C-Café, featuring youth artists and performers from across Mississauga. The evening runs from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and will be completely free and family friendly.

MAC would like to say thanks to the United Way Peel Region for funding this project though the Youth in Action Grant for 2014-15.

This year’s event features new, emerging and well-known local talent from Mississauga, Brampton and the surrounding area.

Performing this year are:                                                             
Duet Jason James, singer, and Andre Besel, guitarist will be performing original work and covers.
Dancer Emilia Nowicki and her new partner Anton Novikov will wow the crowd their Samba.
Lynx Sainte-Marie is a poet and spoken word artist, with past performances at several local activist conferences.
Port Credit native Clark Schlesinger, will perform both his classic covers and some original work.
Faris Shafi a local hip-hop artist and rapper will bring his original beats to the Mississauga audience.
Kendra Charest-French who has previously placed at the Rotaract Singfest, will be with us that night. Local pop-songstress duet Tinha will take the stage and perform some new work.
Brianna Corona, a signer who is fairly new to the Mississauga scene, will perform as well.

This year’s visual artists will include Josephine Condotta, an acrylics painter and Brampton resident, and Aida Maz, a mixed media artist who organized the event. This year’s Block Party will feature art displays and larger installations by young and emerging artists.
