Surrey RCMP arrest and charge Rafey El Saadi in last week’s stabbing in Clayton Heights area

SURREY RCMP announced on Tuesday that a suspect has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident that occurred last week on Friday in the 18700-block of 64th Avenue in Cloverdale.

At approximately 7:57 p.m. on October 6, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of the stabbing. Officers located a male victim who had been stabbed. He was transported to a local area hospital for medical attention.

Officers obtained information from witnesses and recovered evidence inside the residence where the incident was believed to have occurred. The alleged suspect was later located at a local area hospital and taken into police custody.

Rafey El Saadi, 24, of Surrey, has now been charged with one count of attempt to commit murder. This incident was targeted and involved family members.

The victim has been released from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
