Diwali greetings from Rich Coleman, Leader of the Official Opposition

Rich Coleman

RICH Coleman, Leader of the Official Opposition, in a statement on the occasion of Diwali, said:

IT is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest wishes to all who are celebrating the festival of lights across British Columbia and around the world, happy Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas.
In the days ahead, Hindus, Sikhs, Jain, Buddhist and other communities will celebrate Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas. These festivals signify the victory of light over darkness, the triumph of good over evil, and hope over despair.
The festival of lights marks a new year and a new beginning- an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate happiness, joy and shared values. As British Columbians of all backgrounds light diyas, watch firework displays, share meals, and exchange gifts we are reminded of Canada’s unique and rich cultural diversity which strengthens us all.
On behalf of the BC Liberal Caucus, I would like to extend our best wishes to everyone celebrating Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas.
