More than 4000 people and 111 exhibitors participated in PICS 10th Mega Job Fair and Business Expo held on August 3 at North Surrey Recreation Centre. Organized yearly by the Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society, this year’s fair attracted 111 outstanding employers / exhibitors looking to fill at least 3,000 jobs. They included Ikea, Canada Post, RCMP, BC Corrections, The Vancouver Canucks, The Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Bank of Canada, and Parq Vancouver. MPs Sukh Dhaliwal, John Aldag and Ken Hardie; provincial ministers Jinny Sims, Parliamentary Secretary Ravi Kahlon and MLAs Rachna Singh, Marvin Hunt and Tracy Readies also attended. PICS CEO Satbir Cheema announced that PICS is planning to host two job fairs next year – one in Vancouver and one in Surrey.
