DELTA Police Constable Ken Usipiuk along with businessmen Amarjit Dhadwar of A1 Sports and Daljit Beesla of Magic Cleaning Services spent the weekend atop a 30 foot crane for 30 hours to raise awareness and fundraise for heart disease and stroke.

The fundraiser began in the pouring rain on Saturday, October 25 at 9 a.m. and ended on Sunday, October 26 at 3 p.m.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s mission is to reduce death from heart disease and stroke by 25% by 2020.

Held at the York Business Center in Surrey, the fundraisers tried getting the message out to people of South Asian decent that they are three times more likely to be affected by heart disease.

The participants presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
