CBSA charges two South Asians and others for unauthorized employment of foreign nationals in Ontario

THE Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has charged three individuals, including two South Asians, and three companies for the unauthorized employment of foreign nationals.

On April 8, following a three-month investigation, members of the CBSA’s Criminal Investigation Division charged three individuals and three Ontario corporations with four counts of unauthorized employment of foreign nationals. It is alleged that the accused employed a number of foreign nationals who were not authorized to work in Canada.

The accused are:
* Kumar Gautam, 31 of Brampton
* Nancy Gautam, 29 of Brampton
* Shane Burrows, 29 of Etobicoke
* Logan Moving & Storage Inc.
* Shane’s Moving & Storage Inc.
* 2370080 Ontario Inc. operating as EBS Transport

The accused are scheduled to appear at Old City Hall court on May 27.

“The CBSA is committed to supporting the employment of those authorized to work here in Canada and ensuring that employers abide by our laws,” said Goran Vragovic, Regional Director General of CBSA, Greater Toronto Area Region.
