RATTAN MALL, the best known South Asian journalist in Canada, has been extensively quoted for years by the mainstream media and has been interviewed by all the major Canadian TV networks. He broke several Air India bombing stories.
His columns have been known for their hard-hitting, honest style since the 1990s.
He was a reporter with The Vancouver Sun in 1994 and with The Province in 1996. He was associate producer of South Asian programs with Roger’s CFMT-TV (now OMNI) in Toronto in 1999-2000.
In India, he worked with The Times of India in New Delhi as reporter and special correspondent from 1979 to 1990 and was one of the best known reporters in the country. Among the events he covered were the assassination of then-prime minister Indira Gandhi and the anti- Sikh riots in Delhi.
He earned his B.A. (Honours) in Economics and his Masters in Western History (modern European and American history).
